Brain food and good for the soul

Memorizing is enhanced by this step by step way of supplying missing words. Fun and good for you, and youll impress friends and family to boot.

Great but could be better

Love this app. Would be better with the following improvements Create a difficulty where we could freely Input text into the blanks. I dont feel prepared to recite when training is over because Im used to seeing the words in front of me. Provide the option to import your own documents so we can memorize our own poems.

A wondrous introduction to poetry

Hearing the poems first by highly trained actors, encourages my own readings. There are plenty reasons to this app, and this is one of many. Buy it. Say to yourself "my muse told me so."

Fun

I like this app. I enjoy the selection of poems that has been made available, some of which I have not seen in years. Thanks!

Great App

This is great I love poems and this is a great way to learn them.

I love it!

I absolutely love this app and I love memorizing poetry. I have no complaints with the app but I do with there was a larger selection of poetry. I do hope you are working on that.

Wonderful idea, but the hint/test feature need to be improved

The idea is wonderful. But, the way the program helps/tests the user to recite a poem is like putting a puzzle together. The puzzle itself brings troubles for memorizing poems, since poems have rhythms and flow, and the puzzle pieces simply break the rhythms and flows. Not knowing exactly what need to be done, I think the help/test feature should help people to memorize a poem quickly, not slow them down.

very cool

I like it a lot

Absolutely Amazing!

I have already memorized a William Blake poem, a piece by Edgar Allan Poe, and a Shakespearean sonnet! Ive only had the app for two days and have already learned so much. I have learned one third of The Raven which is extremely hard to learn but with this apps effective technique at memorization, I feel like I can memorize anything :D Yes, you have to pay for most poems but they are cheap and well worth it :)

Love it

Simple, clean, effective. Empowers with an ideal tool.

Love this but need help!

Ok. So I download this app specifically for Ozymandias but it wont let me download the Gothic package that has it. Im really trying to download it and cant seem to e able to...help please!

Great app and need to add content.

If you are already interested in poetry, this will build on that interest. If content was broader, more folks might be interested.

Love this app!

What an amazing app! Im horrible at memorizing things, so the repetition and levels of difficulty are perfect for me! Wish there were more poems (always, because you cant have too many poems!) I am very satisfied with this app!!!

Really Impressed

This is a great app. I hope they keep updating.

Love it

Nothing complicated to say, its just very well put together. The selections cover some standards, both readers are quite good, the presentation us elegant, the style of instruction is basic but effective. Im very much enjoying this.

Great resource

Wish I had more time to spend reading and memorizing the great poems included. A lost art.

Focused tool, but small selection

A great tool for appreciating, learning, and revisiting poems. The selection is small, for now, meaning its not a great tool for finding an unfamiliar poem to inspire or think about.

Poetry Forever!

:D

Poetry out loud

Really a great way to play with poetry. Ive had Such fun remembering reciting poetry. Good selections. I do hope developers stay invested in it and add new poems periodically. Good job!

Fun way to memorize

they really need to allow syncing between devices. WHERE IS VOLUME 3??!! This app is pretty great. It is a little annoying that I paid for the individual packages in Volume 1 before there was a way to purchase the whole volume at a discount. It would have been nice if the makers of the app would have made that an option earlier- it always feels like a rip off when you buy something and THEN it is offered at a discount. This app is fun and pretty to look at. If you choose to listen to the poems, the readers have pleasant enough voices. I know that on previous versions, people complained that 99 cents for four or five poems is steep when they are all in the public domain, but I am pretty sure those people are missing the point entirely. If paying just let you read the poem, 99 cents would be ridiculous. But you get MUCH more than that. It is much easier to memorize poems with this app than it is to memorize a poem sitting in front of you. That is what you are paying for. I have yet to see anyone who has used the app to memorize poems complain about the price, except that there was no discount to buy the whole set (which has been remedied in this version). The app also has badges that you can earn for certain achievements. My only complaint about this is that there is no easy way to view the badges that you have earned and the ones you havent. So you will get a notification bar that you earned a badge, but there is no way to view all the badges you have earned, when you earned them, what they mean, etc. The only other thing I want to see from this app is a wider selection. Four poems a month is not much; it would be great if they had two or three times that many. Edit Feb 2014: I like this app, but I am changing my review to three stars because all the poems load every single time I open the app. It takes forever, and it makes using the app annoying. Want to review poem x? Well, it will probably be dead last in the download queue. You could be waiting 30 minutes. There are no options or settings. I like the idea of not having to have all poems downloaded to my device at all times, because it would take so much space... I wish the app let me decide which poems to keep on my device and when to download each poem to my device.
